Prerequisites

Unit Dependencies

The units have been ordered to ensure that you meet all necessary prerequisites; however, we encourage you to rearrange the units to suit your needs.

The following diagram displays the connections and dependencies between the units in this course. You can use this diagram as a guide if you choose to cover the units in a different order.

A flow chart detailing the dependencies between all of the units.

Part A and Part B Dependencies Between Units

Units are divided into two parts, Part A and Part B.

It is suggested that you cover Part A of Unit 1 before Part A of Unit 2, but there is no need to cover Part B of Unit 1 before Part A of Unit 2. While this is not a requirement, you may choose to complete the lessons within a unit in the order given (Part A then Part B).

Possible Pathways

One pathway through the course content is as follows:

  • Progress through the units in the order given or in any order that respects the unit dependencies diagram. If in Grade 7, cover only the Part A lessons; if in Grade 8, cover the Part B lessons (using a selection of Part A lessons for review, if needed).

Many other pathways are possible, but may require you to fill in some prerequisite material on your own.
