Example 3

A quadrilateral \(ABCD\) has vertices \(A(-1,5)\), \(B(1,8)\), \(C(5,7)\), and \(D(3,1)\).

This quadrilateral is rotated \(90^\circ\) clockwise about the origin, \(O\), to give the image \(A'B'C'D'\).

Draw the image and state the coordinates of \(A'\), \(B'\), \(C'\), and \(D'\).

Example 4

A triangle \(XYZ\) has vertices \(X(-5,1)\), \(Y(-2,6)\), and \(Z(3,5)\). This triangle is rotated \(180^\circ\) clockwise about the origin, \(O\), to give the image \(X'Y'Z'\).

Draw the image and state the coordinates of \(X'\), \(Y'\), and \(Z'\).
