Other Locations for the Centre of Dilatation

We can actually choose the centre of dilatation to be anywhere we would like!

 

 

Take It With You

Draw the image of the \(\triangle PQR\) under a dilatation using the centre \(C\) and a scale factor of \(3\). 

Point P is 6 units right and 4 units above point C. Point Q is 10 units right and 3 units above point C. Point R is 8 units right and 2 units below point C.
